If the destination country is party to the Hague Apostille Convention, an apostille is enough. Otherwise a legalisation through the embassy or consulate is required. Some civil-status documents used within the EU need neither. We check this for every order.

Yes. Your documents are used only to handle your request, shared only with the translators and authorities involved, and processed in line with the GDPR.

In Belgium both terms usually describe the same thing: a translation signed by a sworn translator who confirms that it is faithful to the original. Other countries sometimes use different procedures, such as notarised translations, so tell us where the translation will be used and we make sure it fits.

In most cases a good scan is enough. The translation is attached to a copy of the source document. If the authority also requires an apostille or legalisation on the original, we tell you before we start.

An apostille is a single certificate used between countries party to the Hague Convention. Legalisation is a chain of certifications ending at the embassy or consulate, used for the other countries.

Usually not. We submit and collect the documents for you. A few missions require the applicant in person for certain documents; if so, we tell you in advance.
